Title: Fire

Series: Final Fantasy VII (pre-game)

Rating: PG-13

Pairings: Rufus/Reno

"Hey, Reno," Rufus stood in the doorway to the bathroom, watching the older man blow-dry his hair "Why's the front of your hair shorter than the rest?"

Reno switched off the hairdryer and turned  to face his young charge. “When I was about your age, I tried to flash dry my hair with a fire materia. It singed my hair short and damn near killed me.”

“So why didn’t you just grow it back out? That would have been at least two years ago.” Rufus pointed out.

“I leave it like this to remind me to think twice before I do something stupid.” Reno turned back to face the mirror, picked up a brush and ran it through his hair.”

“Like sleeping with your boss’s son?” Rufus probed.

“Yeah, that would’ve been stupid.”  Reno picked the hairdryer up again and looked at Rufus. “I guess it’s a good thing  I slept with my future boss instead.”

“Hn.” Rufus’ response was obscured by the sound of the hairdryer starting back up.
